Alfredo Dammert

Alfredo Dammert was the architect responsible for the design of the Mercado N° 1 de Surquillo, which opened in 1939. His work contributed to making the market one of Lima's most important culinary hubs, attracting both locals and tourists alike. Dammert's architectural vision provided a spacious interior layout, free of columns, allowing for an open trading environment that has become iconic in the city’s gastronomic landscape.
