Alfredo Lario

Alfredo Lario is the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), an agency of the United Nations that focuses on eradicating rural poverty and enhancing food security. Under his leadership, IFAD has sought to strengthen partnerships with developing countries to improve agricultural productivity and support smallholder farmers. Recently, he met with Mauritania's Minister of Economic Affairs, Abdullah Ould Suleiman Ould Cheikh Sidia, to discuss enhancing developmental partnerships and investment in youth and agricultural sectors in Mauritania.
