Alhaji Demba Alieu Ndow, affectionately known as the Mentor of Mentors and the Baobab of Gambian Public Service, was a pivotal figure in The Gambia's post-independence history, serving as the first Gambian Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and later as the founding Managing Director of the Gambia Produce Marketing Board, where he significantly transformed the nation's agricultural sector.
