Alison Vivas is a Colombian survivor of human trafficking who, after a harrowing experience of exploitation in Mexico, has emerged as a powerful voice against such crimes. In 2017, seeking a better life and economic independence, Alison was lured to Mexico under false pretenses of employment, only to find herself trapped in a network of sexual exploitation. After years of silence, she bravely shared her story through various media platforms, including the podcast Vos Podés and interviews with BBC Mundo, to raise awareness about the realities of human trafficking. Today, she has rebuilt her life, is a mother, and runs her own business, Menta y pomelo, focusing on African textile designs.
