Almasan Smatlaev has been appointed as the Deputy Akim of Almaty, overseeing issues related to ecology, energy, transport, and public utilities. His career began in 2009 within business structures, later transitioning to the Eurasian Economic Commission, and he has held various significant positions in the East Kazakhstan region from 2014 to 2023.
