
Almukan Sembinov
Almukan Sembinov was a notable veteran of the Great Patriotic War, serving as a scout in the 362nd Rifle Division. Born in the Akmolinsk region of Kazakhstan, he became a full cavalier of the Order of Glory, equivalent to the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Sembinov was remembered for his bravery during the war, particularly in May 1945, when he was photographed celebrating Victory Day in Germany. He passed away on February 10, 1972, in Tselinograd, and his legacy is honored by a street named after him in Astana.
