
Alphonse Cruchten
Alphonse Cruchten was a prominent Luxembourgish politician and public servant, born on November 28, 1943, in Petingen. He served as the secretary of the commune of Dippach for 24 years before becoming the secretary of the Syvicol, the National Association of Municipalities, a position he held for 13 years. Cruchten also represented Luxembourg's municipalities at the Council of Europe. In addition to his political career, he was an author, publishing a crime novel in 2019 that explored themes of resistance during the Nazi occupation of Luxembourg. He passed away at the age of 81 after a long illness, leaving behind a legacy in public service and literature.
