Alton

Alton is a dedicated wildlife management professional who transitioned from a 20-year career with Fire and Emergency to working at Rotorua Airport, where he has successfully integrated his dog Charlie into a wildlife control program. Recognizing the significant bird-strike problem at the airport, Alton trained Charlie to chase away birds, leading to a notable decrease in bird strikes and earning Charlie national recognition as the first working dog at an airport in New Zealand.
