Álvaro Osorio

Álvaro Osorio is the special prosecutor for prisons at the Procuraduría para la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos (PDDH) in Nicaragua, where he is also responsible for the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture. He has been criticized for his failure to address reports of torture in Nicaraguan prisons, particularly concerning political prisoners, leading to allegations of complicity in human rights violations under the Ortega-Murillo regime.
