Alya Horshkova

Alya Horshkova is a 50-year-old Ukrainian refugee who has experienced displacement twice due to conflict, first escaping the East Ukraine in 2014 and then fleeing from Kyiv to Basel in 2022 with her three children and two cats. Currently settled in Switzerland, she is beginning her first job as an intercultural mediator after completing a nine-month internship, and she expresses a deep-rooted commitment to providing a stable environment for her children, stating she no longer envisions returning to Ukraine due to ongoing fears of conflict.
