Alyattes was a prominent king of Lydia, reigning in the 7th century BC, who is credited with the invention of coin minting and the introduction of the first standardized coins made of electrum. His reign marked a significant period in Lydian history, contributing to the establishment of one of the world’s first monetary systems.
