Amanda Tejeda

Amanda Tejeda, a 92-year-old woman from Antigua, Guatemala, is celebrated for her resilience, sociability, and artistic talents. Graduating with honors as a bilingual secretary at the age of 16, she later moved to the U.S. for work before returning to Guatemala, where she continued her career at the Bank of America. In 1981, she opened a handmade crafts store, El Arte Manual, showcasing her creative skills inherited from her mother, Victoria Romero. Her contributions include creating embroidered handkerchiefs for Pope John Paul II during his visit to Guatemala. A passionate reader and cook, she cherishes family traditions, particularly the preparation of fiambre, a dish passed down through generations.
