Ambumulire Phiri is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in Malawi, known for his role in safeguarding educational standards and integrity within the country. Recently, he gained attention for exposing the fraudulent academic credentials of Mackford Somanje, a nominee for the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), revealing that Somanje's supposed qualifications from the University of South Africa were non-existent and undermining the credibility of the nomination process within the Democratic Progressive Party.
