Amílcar Alexander Ardón
Amílcar Alexander Ardón, also known as 'Chande', is a former mayor of El Paraíso, Copán, and a prominent figure in the Honduran drug trade. Captured in April 2025 after being deported from the United States, Ardón was a key witness in the trials against former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández and his brother Tony Hernández. He was convicted in the U.S. for drug trafficking and money laundering, having been involved in the 'Cartel de los hermanos AA' that controlled cocaine trafficking routes in Honduras. Ardón's testimony was pivotal in exposing the links between drug trafficking and political corruption in Honduras.
