Amir Bogen is a third-generation Holocaust survivor whose grandparents, Meir and Shifra Okon, fled the Nazis to find refuge in the Soviet Union, only to discover that most of their family had been murdered. He is also the grandson of Rachel and Alexander Bogen, who joined Soviet partisans during World War II.
