Ana Calfín, a 38-year-old woman from Chubut, Argentina, tragically passed away on August 18, 2023, after suffering severe burns inflicted by her partner, Miguel Vargas Nehuén. Her case highlighted the persistent issue of femicide, as it mirrored the violent fate of her mother, who had also been a victim of domestic violence.
