Ana Delia Sirí

Ana Delia Sirí, a 78-year-old resident of Los Alcarrizos in the Santo Domingo province, is a devoted mother of three who has faced significant challenges since the passing of her husband, Ascanio, in 2017. In June 2024, she suffered a serious fall while out shopping with her pet, which resulted in a femur fracture. Due to her religious beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness, she opted for a non-surgical treatment that involved being in a cast for several months. Despite her mobility issues, she actively participated in community dialogues aimed at improving local living conditions and received a wheelchair through the efforts of the Defensor del Pueblo, Pablo Ulloa, which has greatly aided her mobility.
