Ana Ruth Esquivel Medrano
Ana Ruth Esquivel Medrano is a Costa Rican politician and the elected deputy of the Partido Pueblo Soberano (PPSO). Born 56 years ago, she has held various positions in government, including serving as the director of the Instituto Costarricense de Pesca y Acuicultura and as a municipal regidora in Puntarenas. Esquivel was in the news following her detention on July 10, 2025, under suspicion of attempting to bribe a young victim of a crime involving her son, who was later convicted of serious offenses.
