Anda Beitāne

Anda Beitāne is a prominent Latvian ethnomusicologist and professor at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. She is recognized for her contributions to the study of traditional music and dance, particularly in the context of cultural self-determination. As a representative of the International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance (ICTMD) in Latvia, Beitāne plays a key role in fostering international collaboration among researchers in the field. Recently, she organized an international conference focused on Northern-Baltic traditional music and dance, highlighting the importance of local traditions in public performances and the role of researchers in these cultural processes.
