András Sallay
András Sallay, born on December 15, 1953, is a celebrated Hungarian ice dancer who, alongside his partner Krisztina Regőczy, dominated the ice dance scene in Hungary during the 1970s. The pair achieved remarkable success, winning the Hungarian championship nine times consecutively until 1980, and earning numerous medals in World and European Championships. They were strong contenders for the gold medal at the 1980 Winter Olympics but controversially finished with a silver. After retiring from competitive skating, Sallay transitioned to sports management and continued to contribute to the sport. He has been recognized with several accolades for his contributions to ice dancing.
