André Graziano is a Brazilian architect and landscape designer known for his innovative work on rain gardens in São Paulo. At the age of 50, he played a pivotal role in the municipal administration, particularly in the Subprefeitura da Sé, where he initiated the implementation of rain gardens to mitigate urban flooding and improve the city's water management. Since 2017, his initiative has grown from 0 to over 530 rain gardens throughout the city, transforming how stormwater is managed and enhancing urban aesthetics. Graziano's approach not only aims to beautify the landscape but also addresses environmental concerns by filtering pollutants from rainwater before they enter the city’s waterways. Currently, he is developing a project at the Federal University of São Carlos and continues to promote sustainable urban solutions both in Brazil and internationally.
