Andrea Barraza is a Colombian journalist and author, best known for her recent biography of Wilson Manyoma, known as Saoko, which delves into the life and legacy of the influential salsa singer. A graduate of the Universidad de Antioquia, Barraza began her career in journalism during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she first interviewed Manyoma for a profile in El Espectador. Her work on the biography, which took three years of research and interviews, aims to honor Manyoma's contributions to Colombian music while exploring the complexities of his personal life. The book 'Saoko' is set to be presented at FILBO 2025, highlighting the importance of preserving cultural narratives in Colombia.
