Andrea María Salazar Alba

Andrea María Salazar Alba is a Bolivian otolaryngologist specializing in audiology, currently leading an innovative auditory implant program at Univalle Hospital in Cochabamba. After recognizing the prevalence of hearing loss in her country, she pursued extensive training to help restore hearing, especially for children. As the only medical professional in her engineering family, she balances her medical career with motherhood, having welcomed her son after 15 years of marriage. Together with her husband, Joaquín Alfonso Reyes, she co-founded the Bolivia Oye Auditory Implant Program, aiming to provide accessible hearing solutions for those in need.
