Andrey Lyubetsky

Andrey Lyubetsky is a Belarusian maxillofacial surgeon who dedicated 18 years of his career to a children's hospital in Minsk. He was detained on May 4, 2021, and subsequently sentenced to five years in a general regime colony by the Minsk City Court in 2022 on charges including 'inciting hatred' and 'insulting Lukashenko.' Following his conviction, he was ordered to pay a fine to a government official and was later transferred to Zhodino Prison No. 8 in July 2024. Lyubetsky has been labeled as an 'extremist' and 'terrorist,' and his family was forced to flee the country due to the political climate.
