In a shocking account, he revealed that he was subjected to extreme torture, including electrocution and physical beatings, and had the phrase 'Glory to Russia' burned into his abdomen by a surgeon in a Donetsk hospital. After enduring severe injuries from a grenade explosion and subsequent mistreatment, Pereverzev was eventually released in a prisoner exchange at the end of May 2024 and expressed a strong desire to return to the front lines if medically cleared.
