Andrij Portnow

Andrij Portnow, a notable Ukrainian politician, was shot in Madrid, reportedly by multiple assailants, after dropping his children off at school. He previously served as an advisor and deputy head of the presidential office under pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych from 2010 to 2014 and was involved in the restructuring of the judicial system. Following the 2014 ousting of Yanukovych, he fled to Russia amid allegations of treason and embezzlement but returned to Ukraine in 2019. After the 2022 Russian invasion, he left Ukraine again, this time heading west.
