
Andronikos II Palaiologos
Andronikos II Palaiologos was the Byzantine Emperor from 1282 until his deposition in 1328. Born in 1259, he was highly educated and served as co-emperor alongside his father, Michael VIII. His reign faced significant challenges, including economic decline and internal conflicts, particularly with his grandson Andronikos III. Ultimately, he was overthrown and forced into monastic life, where he died on February 13, 1332.
