Ange Jessurun, born in Curaçao in 1954, is a prominent author and educator known for her significant contributions to the cultural awareness and linguistic proficiency in her native Papiamento. With a focus on youth, she co-authored various teaching manuals for Papiamento and is recognized as the spiritual mother of 'Arte di Palabra,' a successful writing competition for secondary education in the Caribbean. Since 2009, she has coordinated master's programs in Papiamento, English, Dutch, and Spanish at the University of Curaçao. In 2022, she published her first novel, 'Faya Lobi, 200 anos de amor ardente na diáspora,' inspired by her family history, which has been presented in several countries, including Curaçao and the Netherlands. The Papiamento version of the novel was released in 2023.
