Ángel Machuca is a 16-year-old student from Chiriquí, Panama, who is actively involved in the Jóvenes Científicos program organized by the National Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Senacyt). His participation in this program allows him to engage in scientific research and develop skills related to environmental studies, particularly through his work on the CONTAGRISA project, which investigates water quality in local rivers and beaches. Despite the socio-political challenges facing Panama, including widespread protests and environmental crises, Ángel remains committed to making a positive impact in his community, exemplifying the role of youth as agents of change in addressing pressing environmental issues.
