Angelina Galdámez was a passionate humanitarian from Honduras who dedicated her life to caring for abandoned and orphaned children in Guatemala. After arriving in Guatemala in 1977, she took charge of Casa Guatemala, a shelter for children affected by the violence of the civil war. Known affectionately as 'Mama Angie,' she tirelessly worked to improve the lives of over 200 children, establishing a self-sustaining community that included a school and agricultural projects. Despite facing numerous challenges, including natural disasters, her unwavering commitment attracted international support and volunteers, allowing her to provide essential care and education. Angelina passed away in 2023, leaving a legacy of love and hope for the children she cherished.
