Angelo Manfredi

Angelo Manfredi was the mayor of Taranto during the period when the Ilva steelworks was inaugurated in 1965. He supported the establishment of the steel plant in the city, believing it would bring much-needed jobs and industrial growth to the impoverished region of Puglia, despite the looming environmental concerns.
