Aníbal Cruz
Aníbal Cruz, nearing 70 years of age, is a dedicated shoemaker in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He has witnessed the decline of the local shoe industry, which thrived in the 1970s and 1980s, as mass imports of cheaper Chinese footwear have decimated local workshops. Starting his career as a shoemaker at the age of 12, Cruz now focuses on producing affordable shoes for children and young students in the public education system.
