Anita Byrne

Anita Byrne, a 51-year-old from Donaghmede in north Dublin, is rediscovering the Irish language after years of feeling it was merely drilled into her during school. Nearing the end of her beginner classes, she is excited to practice her skills in Gaoth Dobhair and attributes her renewed interest to the positive cultural influences around the language, including the Belfast rap group Kneecap.
