Anka Bijleveldová

Anka Bijleveldová is a Dutch politician who served as the Minister of Defence from 2017 to 2021. She is a member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and has been vocal about national security issues, particularly concerning cyber threats from Russia. In 2018, she warned about the risks of cyber warfare following a failed hacking attempt on the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, which resulted in the expulsion of Russian GRU operatives from the Netherlands. Bijleveldová's concerns about Russian cyber activities have gained renewed attention amid ongoing conflicts involving Ukraine.
