Anna Aleksandrova is a 47-year-old hairdresser from Russia who was sentenced to five years and two months in prison for criticizing the Russian invasion of Ukraine and sharing information on how to avoid military conscription. Her case gained attention after she was arrested in November 2023 following posts made under a pseudonym on the social media platform VKontakte. Aleksandrova denied the charges, claiming that a neighbor, with whom she had a land dispute, had reported her. During her arrest, she reported that investigators forcibly entered her apartment and threatened her and her son, leading to a deterioration in her health since her detention.
