Anna Maria Crasti is an 83-year-old Italian exile from Istria who fled her hometown of Orsera in 1947 due to the violent aftermath of World War II. Anna Maria vividly recalls the fear of arrests and loss as she recounts her family's escape across the Adriatic Sea, leaving behind their lives and possessions. Now living in Trieste, she reflects on the profound sense of loss and dislocation experienced by her and countless others, as their homeland is now part of modern-day Croatia.
