Ansar Allah

Ansar Allah, commonly known as the Houthis, is a Yemeni political and armed movement originating from the Zaidi Shia sect. The group emerged in the 1990s, initially focusing on cultural and religious revival but has since evolved into a significant military and political force in Yemen, particularly during the Yemeni Civil War. The Houthis have received support from Iran and have been involved in various conflicts with the Saudi-led coalition since 2015. Recently, they were in the news for launching drone and missile strikes against Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, marking a significant escalation in their maritime operations amidst ongoing tensions in the region.
