Anton Lysov
Anton Lysov is a 26-year-old Russian man from Cheboksary who gained notoriety after being convicted for the arson of a car belonging to a high-ranking Belarusian general. His troubled childhood, marked by the early loss of his parents, led him to seek employment in the dark web, where he accepted a job to set a vehicle ablaze in Minsk without realizing its political implications. After carrying out the act, he was arrested and subjected to harsh interrogations by Belarusian authorities, including torture. In November 2022, he was sentenced to ten years in a high-security prison, recognized as a political prisoner by human rights groups. Following his extradition to Russia in December 2023, he managed to desert the military and flee the country.
