Apostolos Arsakis

Apostolos Arsakis (1792-1874) was a prominent figure in Greek education and politics, recognized for his substantial contributions as a philanthropist. Born in Albania, he pursued medical studies in Vienna and became a noted physician. His legacy includes significant donations to the Philological Society in Greece, leading to the establishment of the Arsakio school system. Arsakis played a key role in the political union of Wallachia and Moldavia, serving as a minister and briefly as prime minister.
