Aquino Sajili is a 53-year-old attorney from Zamboanga City in Mindanao, Philippines, who survived a tragic ferry capsizing incident. During the night of the disaster, he experienced panic as the MV Trisha Kerstin began to list heavily and, realizing the imminent danger, he alerted a lawyer friend to contact the Philippine Coast Guard. Sajili recounted the chaos that ensued as passengers, including women and children, panicked and attempted to save themselves. He managed to cling to a life raft and floated in the sea for over three hours before rescue arrived. Sajili has expressed concern over the crew's negligence and has indicated that survivors may pursue legal action against the ferry's owner.
