Aramis González Barrera was recently in the news after being detained by municipal police during a carnival parade in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, for wearing a costume resembling Gerardo Sánchez Sansores, the nephew of Governor Layda Sansores. His humorous portrayal drew laughter from the crowd but led to his arrest when he refused to remove the costume upon request from civil protection personnel. He was released hours later after paying a fine.
