Arantxa Sáez

Arantxa Sáez is the president of the Spanish Thyroid Cancer Association (Aecat) and a survivor of severe obesity and thyroid cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 2004. She actively works in patient advocacy and is part of the Alliance for Obesity, a coalition aiming to address the stigma surrounding obesity and promote better treatment options for those affected. Sáez highlights the challenges individuals with obesity face in seeking support due to feelings of shame and rejection.
