Archie Lewis, born Edward Archibald Lewis on April 10, 1918, was a pioneering Jamaican singer known for his rich baritone voice. He gained fame in the UK during the 1940s as one of the first black vocalists to perform solo in public, recording popular songs and touring with prominent bands. Lewis is celebrated as a romantic balladeer and left a lasting legacy in Jamaican music before his death in 1988.
