Ari Ahmed is the General Director of Water and Sewage in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He recently announced that Erbil has launched the largest water project in Iraq and the region, which is set to provide essential drinking water to about six million people. Under his leadership, the water supply infrastructure has seen significant improvements, with a network that spans 4,000 kilometers and involves the work of 12,000 employees. His efforts have focused on enhancing the historical water supply systems in Erbil, which date back to 1934, culminating in the establishment of a rapid pumping project in 2025 capable of handling 20,000 cubic meters per hour.
