Ariatna Lizeth Mata Esparza was a 22-year-old athlete from Torreón, Mexico, whose tragic death during a weightlifting session raised awareness about the dangers of heavy lifting. She collapsed after lifting a substantial weight and was later found to have died from anoxemia and a severe brain hemorrhage, conditions related to exhaustion and her high-altitude environment.
