Arif Haidary

Arif Haidary is a 25-year-old Afghan-German who fled to Munich in 2015 as a teenager. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Migration Advisory Board, advocating for the rights and integration of migrants. In the wake of a recent attack in Munich, where the perpetrator was Afghan, Haidary publicly addressed the negative stereotypes associated with Afghan refugees, emphasizing that they do not represent the wider community. He expressed concern that such incidents would further fuel resentment against Afghan migrants in the city.
