Armand Fizeau

Armand Fizeau was a prominent French physicist known for his pioneering work in the field of optics and for being one of the first to measure the speed of light accurately. He significantly contributed to the development of the daguerreotype process, enhancing its durability with his innovative chemical treatments. Fizeau's collaboration with Léon Foucault in 1845 led to the first successful astrofotography of the sun, capturing details of solar phenomena.
