Armando Maggi

Armando Maggi, known as 'il caimano del Garda,' was a remarkable athlete who, after losing a leg in a work accident, became the first person with a disability to swim across the Strait of Messina in 1970. His achievement opened the doors for many others with disabilities to pursue similar feats.
