Arturo Carlos Murillo Prijic

Arturo Carlos Murillo Prijic is a former Bolivian government minister who served under President Jeanine Áñez. He gained notoriety for his involvement in a controversial case of corruption, specifically related to bribery and conspiracy associated with the purchase of riot control equipment from a U.S. company. In January 2023, he was sentenced to 70 months in a federal prison in Miami, Florida, for these charges, as well as for money laundering linked to overpriced tear gas purchases. Recently, he was released from federal custody and is currently monitored with an electronic ankle bracelet, pending the outcome of an extradition request from Bolivia.
