Asclepius is a figure from Greek mythology known as the god of medicine and healing. He was revered for his ability to bring the dead back to life, a gift that ultimately led to his downfall when Zeus, fearing that humans would become immortal, struck him down with a lightning bolt. Asclepius is often depicted with a staff entwined by a serpent, symbolizing healing and renewal. His legacy continues today in the form of the Hippocratic Oath and the modern medical symbol.
